Been using 12 lb. big game clear for a couple years. Like it alot, for the money it is hard to beat. My question is are there any pluses to running hi vis? This will be on my board rods that also pull jets. is a floro leader needed with hi vis? Thanks for the help, hoping to get out this weekend and might troll a little.

I use Power Pro with and P-Line Florocarbon as a leader. I have very positive results verse running no Floro leader at all.

Hope this helps.

We have been using Hi Vis for several years. Like the added aid in vision while watching line "go to the back".
We use 4 different colors,Triline Green,High Vis yellow,High Vis Green, and a clear.
This make it real easy to untangle also when something is going on we can always refer to the color of the line--Fish on the yellow etc.
We have added leaders & have ran them without, can't see any real difference.

The benefit would be easier line watching for the guy with the net, when the fish comes to the boat. I've tried it on a couple rods and had no illeffects. (no flourcarbon leader required.

For me, it is the benefit of keeping track of 5 boards a side. The HI VIS stuff really makes it easy to see where the lines are, especially turning sharp which I have to do a lot down here.

Good luck,

Thanks guys that is exactly what I needed to know. The use of different colors for untangling sounds great as every year I seem to have to make a quick 180 to avoid the nets off the sandbar. It is amazing how they can jump right in front of you:)

I have been checking and it seems that Berkley no longer makes XT in solar green. They still make Big Game in solar green but having a hard time locating some. Anyone have any suggestions where a person may pick some up?

Hi Guys - I have tried many lines. Last year went to Ironsilk in Mint green. What a wonderful improvement. Use a six foot fluoro leader. Best of both worlds - I see the line and the fish don't see the leader. Another wonderful attribute is when someone else is driving, they can easily see the lines and HOPEFULLY not turn and tangle system.
