I have two brand new sg27lc's, I am going to put trilene xl 10lb on. How much do I put on to make the reels full and the line counter read as accurate as possible? any and all suggestions appreciated. thanks and tight lines.
they will take about 4 to 5 hundred feet to fill up. You want to fill as full as you can to get an accurate count of how much line you are letting out.

Fill a few hundred with old 'backer' line - and splice the new stuff on - chances are few you'll have anything 'peel off' that much line.

Just to give you an idea, I wound on 1000' of 12# XT, then topped it off a 100-yard spool of PowerPro 30#.
