I am trying to decide beteween the x-15 and the x-18c.I know this has been discussed before and I have checked the archives and can still find no solid info to help me make my decision. The difference in screen size does not bother me but the pixel count does. Is it worth it to forget the pixel count because the color makes every thing easier to read or am I going to miss out on the detail the x-15's higher pixel count provides. I am not ready to spend the extra $$ on the x-19 this year but will probably do so next year and whatever I get this year will go on the bow.Hope somebody can help me out. Thanks in advance.

I went through the same decision about 1 month ago, and decided on the x15.

I felt the decision was made easy when the units are compared side by side. With the larger screen and higher pixel count, the x15 seemed to be much bigger and clear. If you would try to use both the sonar and gps at the same time, both side are extremely small on the x18. This is just my opinion though.

Now if I only needed it as a fishfinder, and not view GPS and the fishfinder at the same time it might have been a harder decision.

I've only used it once so far and really like it.

i have used the x-18 for over a year its great in bright sun light and easy to read the bottom with. pixel count is meanless between the 2 units you are thinking about, can wacth your jig go up and down like a ekg with either one, i have used it down to 50 ft.

I had a LCX16 and now a LCX19. I fished a 15 with a friend of mine and would recommend the 18 19 or 104 every time. As jon said if you can see an 1/8 oz jig in 50' of water, the pixle count is good enough for me. The color seperates a fish laying on the bottom easily for me. The color shows the density better. Where on the 15 I couldn't pick them out easily. That's my opinion only.

Thanks for the input guys. I have made my decision to go with the 18. I want to eventually go to all color units and the 18 will be a good start. Thanks again.
