Sonar freeze

My 480M Lowrance keeps freezing up on me. It will do it 3 or more times in a day of fishing.I just have to shut it off-on than everything is alright.My friend has a x15 and it has the same problem,just not as often.Is this a common problem? Or is there anything I can do?

My new LMS480 is doing the same thing. I thought I was doing something wrong. It may be time to call the manufacturer.
