I AM TRYING TO FIND CLIPS FOR MY PLANNER BOARDS THAT WILL HOLD SUPER-LINES. I HAVE SEEN THE CLIPS THAT WILL CLOSE BUT I AM NOT SURE WHO THE MANUFACTURE IS? ANY SUGGESTIONS?? IF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE I COULD PURCHASE THEM OFF THE NET THAT WOULD BE GREAT, I LIVE IN MONTANA AND HAVE TRIED ALL THE LOCAL STORES.

HAPPY HOOK SETS,
ERIC

The only clips I know of that will hold fireline are the Church clips. They are available in Cabelas. good luck

YOUR BEST BET IS TO USE RUBBER BANDS ATTACH THE RB TO THE LINE AND THEN PUT THE RB IN THE CLIP!!

Eric,
Contact Big Jon. They use the Snapper line clip as an option on the Wille Boards. It will absolutely work with Fireline, 10# and up. Their addy is www.bigjon.com.
The nice thing about this clip is there is also a pin the will keep the line from comming off the clip, should it slip out of the pad (never had it happen though), no more going back to retreive loose boards.

for late season and early season I use offshore downrigger releases.(not the planer board releases, the down rigger releases are much larger) they hold fireline well and are easy to grip and open with frozen fingers, you can order them from cabelas, use the heaviest sping tension you can for a good bite on the superlines. warmer weather I use the mr walleye boards and releases

I have trolled fire line around the world at least twice and ROACH clips are the only way to go. Also switch your offshore boards over to roach clips with the tattle tail flag system and you have the ultimate set up.

I have trolled aroung the world going after inline boards when I used church, off-shore, etc... The ONLY one I have found, as somebody has said here, is the Snapper clips which was made by Wille. Wille was bought out by Big Jon and you can find them on their website. The clips snap shut and have a little pin that prevents the line from coming out. I have not chased one board since buying them.

I've had the Snappers for three years now and love them. I still double wrap but I don't think it's necerrary (old habits are hard to break).

Best Regards,
