I need your opinions, I Have a x15mt without GPS and am debating on buying the GPS module or just a GPS unit. I like having the full screen for sonar on my X15 and was wondering if you guy's had any opinions on it.

I have an X15 and use the split screen, I dont have a problem with it. But if you like the full screen and have room, you probably should get a seperate unit.
If you havent tried it, maybe put your unit into split screen mode and check out the size of the sonar screen, it may help you decide whats best for you.

I agree with PJ. Split screen on the X15 displays more sonar & map than you may think. Also, before Lowrance came out with the 3.0 software release, I would have probably steered folks away from purchasing the integrated GPS. Not any more. They seem to have their act together now, IMO.

I Use the split screen now to zoom in and it works great but I still think I would like to have one unit for just sonar. Any sugestions on a GPS only unit?

I have an X15 and bought a Globalmap 3200 to sit beside it. I picked the 3200 for its smaller size. If you zoom in you can get pretty good resolution and I primarily use it to monitor my boat speed. If you are after better mapping then a larger unit might suit you better. I don't think Lowrance sells the 3200 anymore but I'm sure there is one identical to it out there somewhere.

I was in kind of the same situation as you a couple years ago. I chose to go with a Garmin 162 (168) unit with internal ant. I have the X-15 at the console, and a sonar only unit on the bow. The internal antena allowed me to move the Garmin from the console to the bow pretty effortlessly. A times when I was making a short run, and or in familiar water, I just used the X-15 GPS and left the Garmin on the bow. When I wanted full screen Sonar and GPS on the console, easy move to accomplish.
This was a couple of years ago, you may want to look a different units, but I really like to have one relocatable (Internal antena)GPS unit.

I like full screen sonar because I frequently run split screen zoom.
