A friend recommended this Lowrance GPS unit. What do you like or not like about it. Also, what about Garmin's big screen GPS mapping units and their maps, which unit do you like better? Thanks!!

One thing I like about the Lowrance units is... the maps from Mapcreate can be selected as user defined shapes... long and skinny like along a highway across country... or square like "Colorado" or oblong like California. You can maximize your available storage space in the unit by leaving out "map real estate" that you are not interested in.
One thing I don't like is that the lakes shown on the map are "cartoony" and don't represent an accurate shape of the lakes. I sometimes find myself "trolling" on dry land according to the GPS map on the unit. The road maps seem to be pretty good.
