Take your normal (unscented) twister tales and mix them in with your Gulp, seal it up. Next time you use them, they smell just a strong as the Gulp does.
Not sure if the stuff works as well as they say, but a little scent will never hurt.

A big advantage to the gulp is that it is water based. thus the time in the water allows for more scent dispersal. No petroleum based products in Gulp and be careful, the twister tails may also pass some petroleum scent onto your gulp.
I fished in the first ever all artificial walleye tournament on Saturday at Chamberlain. It was put on by Berkley and thus we were restricted to Gulp, Powerbait and Frenzys. We caught a lot of walleyes, smallmouths and more white bass than we could count on Powerbait and gulp. I am sold on the stuff and no, not sponsored by them.

I've been doing some serious Gulp testing side by side with a buddy. In all the applications we would normally use a jig and minnow, I used Gulp and the proper jig style for the conditions, Here is what I've noticed.
1. I catch just as many if not more on Gulp, especially on pressured jig and minnow waters.
2. I'm more efficient when the bite is really hot, not rebaiting and chasing slippery minnows all over the boat.
3. I've purposely let fish have the bait on a slack line once they hit the jig. They continue to climb up the bait and chew it repeatedly.
4. Due to the bulk of the bait or any plastic for that matter, the fish literraly suck it way in their mouths - way fewer misses.
It will be interesting to see how it performs through the season.

Just curious Honsie, what is the point of a "non-live bait Tourney" . It sounds very interesting.

This tournament may be the beginning of things to come! I made a prediction a few years back (was laughed at by WC clan) that eventually ALL walleye tournaments will be artificial only. I really do believe that there will be a transition from our over dependence of using live bait to artificial. Look at the BASS world and their ban on live bait, it's only a matter of time.

The point was a promotional effort by Berkley to prove that the stuff works. Most of us when given the choice, especially in a tournament try live bait first and then "bulk up" with artificials. This took that option away and really proved to a lot of good fishermen just how good this stuff is.

Here is another tip, for the uninitiated:
Don't leave Gulp shad bodies on jigs air-drying overnight. :)
Toughest "jerky" I ever saw!! LOL!

Another good point. However, if you leave them in water for a while after that, they will soften up some.
Go with a bigger size, let it lay on the deck for a while to shrivel slightly and it stays on the hook really well!

An "all artificial" walleye tournament? Here in Utah we can't even use scented baits in waters deemed "artificial only". You can't even have any scented baits in your posession!

Not sure I'm sold on them. Used them for the first time 2 weeks ago while trolling. Started out with 4 rods with crawler harnesses, all of them were getting bit. Switched 2 over to gulp and not another bite on those 2 rods.

I tried the 6" crawlers on harnesses two weeks ago with no luck. However, we didn't pick anything up until we went to Lindy rigs with leeches. I will be trying them again later. What colors have you guys been using in the grubs and do you have a preference?

The Gulp 6" nightcrawler in natural color works as well or better than livew crawlers on a weight forward spinner or worm harness for me. Other colors have not worked yet for walleyes. May work later in the year on erie. I will be checking them out.
Here's a few rigging hook styles for fishing GULP or other plastic worms.
