Starting at such an early age I can not help but ask the biggest question of all time "WHEN IN THE H*LL DO YOU LEAVE"? I can't figure out when you should leave a spot. It doesn't bother me so much on non-tourny days but when I am in a tourny I can't help but ask myself if I should leave. SOmetimes you are catching fish but just not the right ones and then I wonder if I should leave that spot and try to go hog hunting or should I stay there because the big ones might mover into a spot. I think that this is the most controversial question of all time in the realm of fishing and I thought that it would be neat to get some opinions!

Heavy Jigger:

I would have to agree with your statement. Knowing when to move on to the next spot can be a tough decision to make. I've been told by some great fisherman to work an area no longer than 20 mins. However I have found that when a spot has sentimental value, it becomes difficult to give up on it so soon.

For example if a favorite spot has produced very well in the past, I will tend to fish the area much longer than I probably should. I dont fish too many tounraments, however I learned that fishing a "favorite" spot longer than you should, can cost you during a tournament. The versatile or more adaptable fisherman often comes out ahead.

It seems that the question comes down to using your own personnel judgement.

Good Luck,
