I would say that this is a very essential part of worm management if u can call it that. I think that it helps a dramatic amount! Just my .02 cents.

YOu can buy it, but I use cornmeal. They fatten beef with corn, I fatten worms with it. Been using it for 30 years. Worms are dormant in the refrigerator, so I just sprinkle some on top and mix it in.

I keep 2-300 crawlers in my fridge all the time. I use a soft sided cooler so it doesnt look bad and anger Old Yeller. I feed them the feed that comes in the yellow Pringles looking can. I also take them out of the fridge to get the blood warmed up and get more active at least every other day. I have great luck with my crawlers, good luck with yours. Saves a fortune when you go through ten dozen in a day.
