Hi I am wonduring just who has the better fishing locators and gps units out there? Do you still get what you pay for? Meaning if you spend more you get better quality or does that even matter now days.

Hey fish,

Just went through the same question... I had an X85 last year and sold my boat and included the X85. My New.. (used boat) had a Garmin 240 and Garmin 168 on it. The Gps in the garmin worked great, but I had problems seeing fish and never saw the baitfish from both Garmin fishfinders. I tried them on two transducers, and on my new minnkota with built in transducer... same story... lousy fishfinders!!!!!

I finally decided on a Lowrance X125 after downloading the simulator(sp} software!! Happy is not the word for it... I have used it for over a week and I see fish and baitfish!!! I am very happy with this fishfinder.... you will not be disappointed!! no... I don't work for Lowrance!!! Just one happy fisherman... now that is my 2-cents!!

God Bless,
Dave in S.D.
