I am looking to buy a trolling motor. I want the bow mount style. My problem is that I wanted Universal Sonar included but I can't find anything under 55 pounds of thrust. I have a rear mount trolling motor right now with 34 pound thrust and that pulls my boat with plenty of power. In fact, in my lowest gear, on a calm day it goes almost too fast. I just have a real light 16 foot boat. Does anyone know if there is a bow mount out there that has Universal Sonar with a range of 34-40 pounds of thrust? Hopefully someone can help!

55 lbs is the lower end with universal sonar as far as Minn Kota goes. I would sure consider it anyway. You don't have to run it at full power so your battery charge would last longer. The power drive motor is a nice unit. I have the PD65 and I love it!

Ditto on the motor size.
With todays sonar, the motors can be dialed down so slow, that you can see the prop turn. The more powerful unit, will allow you the option of working larger waves if needed, and run on low power when not needed. The use of low power when not needed will simply extend your battery life.

p.s.
Why are you concerned about having a transducer in your trolling motor any way.
Why don't you simply mount the transducer on the transom of the boat on the opposite side from your current transducer. Run the cable to the bow, and you will be good to go.

Unless you typically fish "canyons" there is really not a lot that is gained, by having the transducer at the front of the boat; as compared to the bottom of the boat. i.e. if you are moving along, the only difference between what you see from the front transducer compared to the back transducer is about 5 seconds.
Then, if you have a transducer on the back of the boat, no matter whether you have the trolling motor up or down; you will have good depth information available at the bow fishing position. I am sure that there are lots of times that you fish, when you DON't have the trolling motor down. When this happens it is nice to still know what is going on with the bottom.
Also, by having the cables coming from the back, you have 0 cables to hook to the trolling motor and get involved with the motor.
