I bought a Diawa Capricorn 2000,which is the same reel as the Prodigy,and liked the balance and the gearing but the elongated "Air Bail" hit my fingers.I decided I could not cope and exchanged it for the St.Croix Avid,which,supposedly,is the same reel without the air bail.I like everything about it.No complaints.I have bought two more,for myself and think highly enough of them to give them as gifts to my adult sons,who are prtty good fishermen and appreciate quality epuipment.

I've had a prodigy for 2 seasons now. It's my favorate spinning reel.I've had no problems with it.I use both fireline and mono,and it seem to be holding up great.

You can buy anything that says Cabelas on it. It will be good quality.
