I caught a batch of walleye on Saturday using Hot-N-Tots on leadcore. All of the fish were hooked on the front hooks. Could anyone explain to me why? Where I fish there is allot of structure, and most people remove the hooks to make the lure more snaggless. Any ideas or thoughts would be welcomed.

they were being taken from the side instead of from behind. Or they were taking the whole lure and getting hooked when they turn away.

also, Hot N Tots run pretty vertical with the deep diving blade. If the eye attacked up at the bait, it is very easy for it to hit the front first.
