I am trying to figure out what is the easiest and cleanest way to wire my Mag 10's. I have a 1900 ProV that I have put a board across to mount 4 riggers and still take everything off when not using them. I would prefer not running individual power cables to the transom battery. How can I tie all four into one main power cable and either run it to the battery or even maybe the back trolling motor plug. Please keep in mind that I am electrically inept.

Buy a fuse block. Mount it somewhere near the batteries. Run the power from the battery(s) to the fuse block. Terminate your individual riggers to the fuse block. I would use two different fuses. Maybe split it port and starboard.

I set mine up with one of the 6 outlet surge panels you use for your computer. I cut the end off and wired it to the battery, mounted the panel in a central location out of direct weather. I then put regular house plugs on my riggers. I can just plug them in when needed or flick the switch and there off. If you do this make sure you experiment with the pos. & neg. hook ups to the battery. If there wrong when you push the switch for your riggers to go down, they may go up. Just reverse the wires at the battery and your all set. It clean, easy and works. No problems what so ever.

I too like that idea. Where do you mount the plug strip? I would think on the bottom of the board would be most convenient. Do they make those plug in strips that are waterproof? Thanks for the replies.

I doubt that they do make one waterproof but maybe someday thanks to us they might. I mounted mine upsidedown in the top side of my engine compartment. Each boat would be different of course and this works very well for me.

Bjn- Last year I put 2-Mag 10's on my 1800 Pro V. I mounted them 24 inches forward of transom. I used mounting base on boat, added swivel bases and added downrigger. I swing riggers out 90 degrees from side of boat. This fall I will add more that I will mount at rear of gunnell.
I used the 24 volt outlet behind drivers seat for the one on that side of boat. The plugs you buy will let you go 12 or 24.
For the passengers side I mounted a 12 volt socket in passengers side for that one. Walmart sell these as a set, plug and socket. The Cannon book tells you your electrical needs.
I"m a plumber, not and electrician, and did mine.
One more thing.Fellow I work with "Jury rigged his riggers", "you don't need all that stuff". End of story, boat in unattached garage, wife's car and boat there also. Came home fire dep't had fire out. They found fire started in his rigger wiring. Boat, car and building gone. They paid nothing on his boat,1/2 of the car and 1/4 of the building. If he had paid someone to do it right they would have went against them. I know this sounds like a Story, but this guy is my fishing partner twice a month on Lack Michigan for salmon.
Safe boating- good luck Clay
