I'm looking to add a Pinpoint 7420 to my bowmount trolling motor and use a sync cable to to connect it with my 7520. Has anyone got this setup and does it work OK? I'm looking at some used 7420's and checked with Reeds to make sure they have the sync cables available. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

I had intalled the whole package on my 2000 Triton 189 with a double "Y" cable for two pucks in the rear. The set-up was awesome once I got the rear pucks set in the correct spots on the rear pad. at cruising speed (or even low), I could split the dash screen and see both sides of the boat. With the trolling motor down and splitting the dash screen, I could operate the trolling motor from the rear and still see under the front of the boat. With the GPS, the base program even had a thumbnail of the Winnipeg river system around Minaki to see the basics of the river and adjoining lakes. Never had any problems with the system and would have kept the system for my new Tyee, but I made the mistake of showing the boat dealer how the system worked and he made me keep in in the Triton as I traded it in.
Only suggestion when you run the cables is to route them as far away from any other wiring running the length of the boat to help reduce interference.
Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback.
Thorne Brothers in Mpls has the sync cable you are referring to. I just networked my 7520's together but don't have it connected to my bow mount. The cable is a about 58 bucks.
Was thinking about selling My Pinpoint 7420 which is still a great unit ,but wanting to go color.Do you guys have any ideal what to sell my pinpoint for ?
