I am going to be buying these two units any gripe about them or how much do you like them, was going to get the X15 but wanted seperates do to not wanting to screw with toggling back and forth and if something breaks I can replace one or the other not the whole expensive thing, I will about spend the same and think I am getting a better set up what's your opinion. Thanks

I would definitely go with the two separate units, for the reasons you mentioned, plus with two units you can run a split screen zoom on the sonar.
