wire worm harnesses problem

I made up some harnesses with wire and the loop end opened when the wire slipped or broke ?
I know the loop opened because I ghot back the ball bearing swivel and the swivel was still closed

what am I doing wrong ?
I crimped them really tight but maybe not enough ?

We were running wire line dipseys yesterday for steelie's and watched my cousin as he crimped on a new swivel to a setup. He used two sleeves and a normal set of pliers. They both looked good. But after applying some tension, the wire broke under the front sleeve and the back one slid off - glad we checked. We checked the pliers and they had serrated jaws which had a nick in one spot creating a sharp jagged edge.

Never seen that before. But I am assuming you are probably using less wire diameter which will make it more difficult to get a good crimp. They make sleeve diameters specifically to the wire diameter you are using, might be a possibility.
