Many thanks for a great weekend! Had a great time, even though the eye's didn't co-op. A special thanks to Skindog for the Fish rulers.
Looking forward to next year.

Steve

P.S. Tyee Guy, Hope the fishing was good at the Lac's...and that you had a safe trip home.

It's kind of peculiar that the guys from Fargo, Moorhead were the only ones that caught any walleyes. Whats up with that?;-)

It hit me on the way home from getting blown off Mille acs, very windy, big waves and no fish.

After talking about Devils Lake you have me very interested. I'll have to get out there some time.

It was a good time with a great bunch of guys. I'm looking forward to Winnie next year.

Let me know when your interested in heading to Devils Lake. If I can get away I'll try to get us on fish. I most often go by myself, so we may be able to work it out for ya to just get yourself to Fargo.

It is kind of odd how the ND guys don't make it to Mille Lacs, and the MN WI guys don't make it to Devils... Lots of water to fish. We'll have to make it to Winnie a few times to prefish our get together! Maybe Otter can help us out.

Ditto on the thanks for the ruler - it rules!

It was a good time. Turn-out was a little smaller than expected and the fishing was tough at best but it was interesting. We got to meet some of our "cyber-comrades," put some faces to website handles and share some fishing experiences. Thanks to everyone involved. Tbomn (Joe) took some pictures that I bet he'll post and hopefully we'll see everybody next year up on "Big Winnie."

The bonding was super, the new friends we made are the greatest, and the fishing sucked. Not much more to be said. We moved from Leech to Mille Lacs for the Sunday bite, the wind was horrundous, must have been from the sucking motion up on Leech. It was a southeast wind...lol....Any way, as Skindog said, no fish there either. We all (I think) had a great time. We had a vote on next year's get together and decided it will be up on Big Winnie, so all you guys that didn't make it to this one will have another shot at it next year. A big thanks to TyeeGuy (Tom) and gmerz (Greg) for setting this one up. I also want to thank Skindog (Kraig) for the great rulers he made for the event (Those that didn't attend really missed out), also a big thanks to the guys that brought the venison sausage/cheese/crackers for the picnic table, it was super. I am truly looking forward to next year, and hope to have more attend, more fish, and of course, meeting new folks to call friends.

P.S. To Tom, Mark, and Craig....my back really hurts today after those 4-5 footers on Mille Lacs....How about you???? Kraig, how are the achers?.....lol

My achers are fine, thanks for asking. I did feel like I was on a motorized surfboard.

I agree, a great bunch of guys.

Burr, what time of the year is the best for devils lake?

Sounds like I missed a good time even if the fish didn't cooperate.

Did you guys decide "when" you're going to go to Winnie next year?

Same weekend - second weekend in September.

By the way, the guys going to Mille Lacs were contemplating 'tailpiping' Jack Dunn on Sunday... Did you lead em anywhere good?

Best time for Devils would likely be end of May to beginning of July - however anytime is actually good. At times the August bite can be tough one day and great the next - so August is iffy. I really haven't spent much time there in the fall due to Pine Falls and hunting, - but those I know say the fall bite is good as well.

Haven't been on the water since Aug.24th;( I'm home with a fractured ankle right now. Wish I could have been there for you guys though, I'm told that some of my fall spots are doing pretty good as long as you have some wind, which there was plenty of this last weekend.

I concur, Had a great time and met some really fine people..Greg, Thanks for the leg work up there, the supper club was superb...Burr, Skindog, SteveG and Lowell as well as tbomn and Mel thanks for everything....As was mentioned before, the turn out and weather as well as the lack of bite on Leech was terrible, but the commaraderie and time spent by the picnic tables more than made up for it....tbomn, my back felt great after the blow on Mille Lacs, but the air rides in that big, heavy boat gave a wonderful ride....b.s. I thought I was going to die yesterday!!!!!!!!!!
Take care...hope to see the pictures soon, and start thinking about Winnie as well......We should get together during the winter boat shows in MSP for a weekend......
