Trolling question

If I use a 1/2oz jig 50' back will my jig drop 5' and if I go back 100' will it drop 10' ??? if i use the 45 degees rule :if I want to be down 50' I would set the ball 60' down that gives me 42' plus 5' at 50ft back which will get me at 47'down Correct ???

No you need to use a 5/8 oz jig to get the numbers you are looking for. A slight oversight I'm sure. You forgot to mention what type of line you are using though.... that will make a difference.
