I am interested in planer board fishing but I am not sure how to do in. Can someone please give some information or direct me to a site that can? Thanks.

What is the best way to check an outside board (after a hit or to check for weeds, etc.) without pulling in the inside board(s)? Thanks!

Few choices depending on whatever.

Freespool inside board while you reel in outside. Engage inside reel when you clear lines. If you want to get the outside board back outside when you reset it, set lead, drop in water and freespool while bringing in the board that is currently out back to it's original position. Engage freespooling board when it will clear other.

You can also reel in inside board and toss in opposite side splashwell with lead to bait still out. Check outside board, reset, then reset inside.

Sometimes, we use a combination of turning the boat towards that side and reeling the outside board in real fast. Best know what your baits are doing and generally works best with short leads. To reset, freespool til it clears inside board.

Same deal when you get a fish on the outside if it doesn't fall to the back for some reason.

Hope this helps,
