I recently ordered a pre-packaged assortment of blades for tying rigs. I noticed some of the blades glow in the dark. Does anyone out there fish with these things, or are they designed to catch fisherman only? I see them advertised here and there, but no one seems to make a big deal about them. Thanks.

NA,

At times glow baits will outproduce anything.

In my experience with dirty water, glow baits seem to be better producing. I'm not sure if that is the reason, but it seems to be.

I've used glow blades and Fergie Spoons from Reelbait, Michigan Wilderness glow spoons and plastics, Yamamoto glow stuff and Gene Lerew glow baits. The best are the Michigan Wilderness by far, but the others work well, just not as long.

Mack's lure needs to make a smile blade that glows. They might already, but I haven't seen one. ;)

Good luck,

During this time of year (Haloween) most stores have glow in the dark finger nail polish. We have had success here in ohio and on erie painting our cranks with the glow polish. Shad raps, hot and tots and Rattletraps seem to work best during fishing at night. For some reason they work better if you just paint the front 1/3 of the lure instead of the whole lure.
