I have been using the 4th edition for quite some time. Wont leave home without it, whether its for eyes or salmon. My question is this, I,m considering the the 7th edition, (or is it 8?). I,ve read on WC that it covers different line size. My 4th edition covers all i need from dive curves to divers, but only in the 10lb test diameter. If any of you have this version, does it indeed cover line test. My linecounters (okuma) are spooled with 20lb trilene for salmon here in my home state. (indiana)I make 2 or 3 treks to erie every year and use the 20 lb on them. Two weeks ago I went to erie and did fairly well but I,m sure I could have done better knowing. I use my experience and gut instinct to compensate for the 20 lb test but I,d rather know for sure. Just trying to "sweat the details". Any help is appreciated....thanks and tight lines....

There is a conversion page in the 7th Ed. which shows you how to reach your target depth with other dia. lines. And many more dive curves for the newer lures.

The new one is the "Big Water Ed." which gives dive curves for all Dipsys (with & without the ring), all Jets, Slide Divers, & Deep Sixes with curves for 30# mono, 30/8 Power Pro, & 30# braided wire. At the printers now will be available in Nov.

Invaluable tools for the serious troller.

I checked my old 4th Ed. and the same line conversion chart is there. Up in the front part of the book.

5th edition on has the conversion table near the front. Never saw the 4th. No diver info in the 7th.

In case you missed it, if you were pulling dipsies, you might want to check the dia they used for the curve (top right corner). Pretty sure 20 lb mono was used for big dipsies, was for j-plugs, can't remember about little dipsies. 20 jets & discs were 10.

W/same lead length, 20 lb mono gets between 81 and 85% of the depth achieved with 10 lb mono from 17 ft down to 50 ft down (mono depth). % varies but 82 & 83% popped up the most when I checked numbers.

ETT - thanks for the overview on the Great Lakes Edition. Hehe, hope I can get to sleep tonite:)

Can you order the Great Lakes Edition yet? Where at? Stores will get them in November?

Thanks,
GU

I'd guess you can place and advance order direct with Precision angling, on the products page of this site.
