Lowrance X67c..........Ice and open water????

I have been looking at the Lowrance X67c. I have a few questions about this model. Has anyone used this model, and how well does it work. Also I was see that it has a flasher mode, would this work for ice fishing?(The old two birds one stone) If it would work for ice fishing, would the high speed transducer do the job? Any help would be appreciated.........

I bought the ice machine last winter and had problems. I always kept the unit close to the heater so it is not too cold and never dropped it. My problems were the unit would lock up and go black and white and the depth would flash after I would catch a fish. At the same time the transducer would tap very loud. Lowarnce sent me a new transducer and I still had the same problem. So then I sent the whole unit into Lowrance and they could not make it fail. They put a new update in it and I still had the same problem. I would have to turn off the unit for few minutes and some times it would not clear. I returned it to where I bought it and got my money back. I did like the unit very much of all the options. Color was awsome. I enjoyed the circle graph but, I liked the split screen more. I just used mine icefishing. I am not knocking Lowrance of there products or customer service, I think I had a bad unit. Will I buy another one, not sure. I sure enjoyed the unit though. I run an X -15 mt on my boat and am very happy with it and will buy a color unit some day. FYI!
