What is the best box for holding stinger spoons? I use the plano boxes, and with having over 100 spoons, it makes it hard to see all the spoons, being doubled and tripled up. Plus the hooks get tangled and the paint comes off a little bit...

OPTAMIST - I talked to you Sunday morning when we had the Huron Tournament a couple weeks ago. You were talking to Rick of LadyBridge. You walked down to our boat ( Reel Naughty ) and seen my amount of spoons and said you had a perfect box from bass pro to contain them...could you find the link from there webpage or explain a little better? Would like to check that out and maybe purchase a couple during the off season.

Thanks to all in advance for any help!!!

Hey Cory,

Stop by the office and I can explain the box that the Optimist was using.

The boxes were on sale at Gander.

Special Mate - a little hard to find but a great value. I prop stuff in front & behind dividers to keep them completely upright when closed. Nothing comes unbuttoned.

Has anyone had any experience with the hook um bags for storing spoons? I ran a search on this site for all old postings about spoon storage and came across the site www.hook-um.com. The "bags" have a neoprene backing with a clear vinyl cover. They look similar to the sheets that I have seen hanging on the inside of some boats lately. The price isn't bad either (under $20). Corey, PJ brought his box in today so I'll check it out and give ya a call later to tell ya what I thought.

Todd,
I have been useing the Hookem Pads for spoons for several years now. I am sure there are other storage boxes that work very well but for me the pads have been great. I try and keep Stingers on one and Scorpions on the other, some days they just end up wherever when the fishing is good. Overall I am happy with them, I hang them on the inside Gunnel walls, and when I need a spoon they are all there too see. This may not work for all boats but in mine it works. Some of the other boxes mention look good as well.
Good Luck, Kelly.

Corey,

I use Hook-Um Pads. I do have a few boxes of lures but I had the same problem that you and every other die hard fisherman out there, tangled hooks and spoons.

So I got 3 big sized hook-um pads and man o man they are great. You can get a small sized hook-um pad with the stingers Logo on it at www.bigwfs.net or www.stingersonline.com

They also have the normal hookum pads for sale on the site as well. These pads work great. I still use my tackle boxes but I put my hottest spoon in the hook-um pads. that way I can just hang them up on the back of the boat and I can get a spoon in second if I have to.

Hope this helps
