I have been looking for a set of planer boards for a mast and ski set up. I have seen some some time ago that were called "Triple ski's". I heard rumor of a set of collapsible triple boards from Off-Shore. I seen a set of dual boards made from redwood and aluminum from a charter boat captain in the Erie area. I want a set that pulls tight and does not have much drift back to them. It would be nice if they were easy to transport in the boat when not in use, but function is much more important. Any direction to locating a good set would be much appreciated.

Thank you for your help!

The Amish Outfitter's boards are a good set of boards and used on a daily basis by some of the better charter captains on Lake Erie. They wouldn't use them if they didn't work good. They do what you are asking and they are foldable.

www.amishoutfitters.com best bet is to cehck them out online and call the tollfree number to talk to Capt Frank in the evening.

The Price Mastercraft triple skis were a pretty good set of boards but I'm not sure if they are made anymore.

I use Otter boards with my mast when fishing muskies. For me they fit nicely behind the seats in my Ranger 621 and won't make any scratches on the inside.

Yes they pull very good.

I do not own a set of the Amish boards but also hear that they pull the hardest and are the best, I second what Freebyrd was saying the lake Erie charter captains use them, I fished with a charter who used them and he said he won't use anything but. I would take a good look at them, even look on the lake to see what they are using on Erie they are the ones.

I bought a set of otter boards last year and have not been very happy with how they pull. Does the angle of the main line to the board have any effect on how well the boards perform? My main line is about 10 ft above the waterline at the boat, creatiing a pretty steep angle out to the board. Any comments?

I have tried all of the above on Erie under all conditions and the red wood ones like Erie Sweepers are by far the best. They will not dive under any wave condition. After going through the Big Johns, double skies, triple skies,Otter boards I went with the sweepers and will never go back.Huck PS I've got big john plastic and otters cheap if interested!!!
