Casting Cranks

Looking for some help with the age old question. When casting cranks is it better to tie direct or use a snap?

I've been using cross-lock snaps for several years now, especially when throwing, tossing, trolling cranks. To me it gives the crank more action, and it sure makes it easier and faster to switch or change cranks.
