can anyone tell me if there is a difference between the usa version and the japanese version of this reel. has anyone had any experiences with this reel. thanks in advance. Stump Jumper

I don't think that any real is worth the 5 to 7 hundred dollar charge that they are asking for.

Its all in your likes a dislikes and what you can afford. If I had $400+ to spend on a spinning reel I would have one! I used one for a few hours once and its a awesome reel.

Its no diferent then a guy driving his beat up 1969 ford p/u and you driving a brand new 2005 Ford with every option. We all have different life styles and different desires.

Now, as far as a difference between the US/Japan versions. Yes there ar differences, but you will have to try to find a web site that explains it.

i ask these questions because i have a friend who has a number of these reels new in the box and has agreed to sell me one for his cost. it is a japanese version. just wanting an opinion on how you like them, not the if they cost to much or not. i do appreciate your help. thanks. anyone else have any experience?
