I have read the treads and everyone has a different opinon. For example one guy said it was very importmant to have a lot of pixels per linera inch in vertical count. Another guy said it was very importmant to have so many pixels per second. Another guy said that it was very important to have like one inch target seperation. An so the question for all of you guys out there that is fimilar with all of this which unit out there has all of things and is easy to use. In the price range of around $800.00. Thanks Big Eye
At that price, just about any of them. But I'm not a screen detail guy. I like wide ranging power and sensitivity selection that ultimately allows you to read targets better. But again, at the price your talking, buy what appeals to you.
The units with more vertical pixals will have more target seperation and most are faster. You should be able to get at least 320 vertical pixals for $800.
By buying more pixals the rest will follow. Kind of like buying a bigger engine will also give you more power and speed.
The higher the PPI, the better detail resolution. Say you have two graphs, both have 400 vertical pixels, but one screen is 4" tall and the other is 8" tall. The 4" screen has 100ppi as opposed to the 8" screen having 50ppi. The smaller screen would actually give you a cleaner, less granular view than the large one because each "dot" that creates the picture on the screen is smaller. It's the same thing on a computer monitor, the best monitors have the smallest dot pitch.
Regarding pixels per second, I believe this would just be a function of how fast you want the screen to scroll by.
You can have the greatest resolution or all the pixels in the world but that doesn't guarantee quality processing of information. There has to be a balance for the buck. Otherwise your just watching TV. I've owned some of the best detail on the market and couldn't process sh*t. Sensitivity my friends, sensitivity. There's also a function called zoom that makes up alot for detail some units may not have. And I'm not trying to sell anything.
Of course it takes a long time to learn how to manually operate these things if you really want to get good info. Auto doesn't do the trick.
What I need to do is get in the complex fishing gadget business and pitch my products worldly wonders to people who think the more twinkling lights the better it must be. Sorry to be so harsh but come on.
