Need some ideas on which rods would work good for cranks and planer boards that are under $100.00. How are the Cabelas E Glass rods. Thanks for any help.

The P&K rods by Bass Pro are very good rods for pulling boards.
THey run around $60. They are retractable and come in 8 and 8'6" lengths. For the money they are great rods. You really don't need to spend a lot for a board rod.

I troll baords behind Browning's Dipsy diver rods. Work great and you can afford to have 4 of them in the boat.

As stated above, you don't need great rods for cranks and boards but length is important. Seeing as you're a Montana guy, I can tell you I got a good deal on some two-piece 8.5-footers at Scheels last year in Billings -- about $30 apiece on sale. Being two-piece, I can store them in a rod locker and they give you a good wide sweep down the lake on Fort Peck. -- mark

What is a P&K rod? Can't seem to find it in the BPS catalog.

Okuma also makes a good rod. They are about $30-$40. A few different actions are available. A lot of the guys I met at the Huron get together use them.

I use OKUMA lead core rods, 7' in length and under $25.Good for dipsy's also, and can be bought in 8' also I believe.
