A couple of us are heading down to Nashville to tour a boat factory on Saturday and we have some time to kill and wondering what there is to do down there?
Some friends and I used to go there every few months or so. Our only plans were this: Start at Hooters on Church st. and head south, hitting every bar and talking to every "wanna make it big" country star on the street corner on the way.

The biggest attraction for fishermen is of course the Bass Pro Shop in the Opry shopping center. They also have flyers there of things to do. Have fun!

Stop by the Grand Ole Oprey (sp?) Hotel and just take a walk through. It is a huge atrium. It is very impressive! Just inquire how much the rooms are. I believe thousands of $$ a night!

A lot of good resturaunts in that area of Church St and that downtown area, Nascar Cafe, Planet Hollywood, Ye Old Spagette Factory, and my favorite was I think the name of Deno's?,Demo's?, had great steaks and prices.
Spent weeks at a time in Nashville for training through work, so we ate at them all. But it has been a few years.

If you can't give up a Yankee obsession--namely hockey--see if the Nashville Predators are playing. Maybe Peluso and the Blackhawks will be in town. The food is great: Demo's on Third at Commerce can even make grilled rainbow trout taste great.
But if you're only going to be in town for one night after your tour, I'm with the other fellows here who said head downtown to Broadway, Commerce, and Second Street. There are bars galore, and don't miss Printer's Alley where there are a couple of microbreweries, if I'm not mistaken. Downtown Nashville is a harmless and funky little culture all it's own, all in about six square blocks.

The Cumberland River has lots of very large striped bass. The best striper guide in the state is located not too far from Nashville. His name is Ralph Dallas and the last I knew he held the state record for striped bass at about 63 Lbs.
