What is the best method for catching walleye in a small shallow river in the spring time? Should I fish in fast current or slow current areas?

Try and find a place where the river has created a back-water area. Try both the beginning of a pool and the lower end of a pool. If you have moving water try the slace line between the fast and the stiller water. Good Luck! Mike
