I am looking at purchasing a rod for bottom bouncing. Was at a local retailer today and looked at the Quantum Tour Edition PT 7' PTC706F. Any opinions on this rod or a comparable replacement.

Thanks,

I have a jigging rod in this series. More sensitive than I expected. I was impressed overall. I think you would be happy.

I have fished with my friends 7 ft Quantum Tour Edition spinning rods. I thought they were pretty nice.

I have a complete set of Quantum Tour edition PT series. Just got them this year, and used the 6ft'ers at Spring Valley Tournament. They were very sensative, very fast tip, and played a big part in not missing any fish. They transmitted the hit so hard, it felt like I was fishing June walleyes on Bago. I'm impressed with ll the aspects of the New Quantum Tour edition PT series rod.

I have always used the Tour edition rods, but these have just hit a home run with me. I think if you try one, you will want more.

I also do have the 7 ft bait casters for livebait rigging, and bottom bouncing. I have them in the med, and light action. They work nice for pulling.

Hope this helps,

My local retailer has suggested the MH action. I usually bounce up to 1oz. Is the MH too much, should I maybe look at the M action instead. I could then maybe use it for lindy rigging as well?

Thanks,

if you're mainly bouncing with 1 ounce you should easily be able to get away with the 705. although i havn't rigged with the 705 i would think that it would be able to pull double duty for that as well, especially if you need to go upwards of 1/2 ounce.
