Mark is a super guy and a good Christian! Knows his fishing as well as one of the best P R guys you will ever find. I bet he winds up in another circuit. A guy like that is not without another job.

Mark will be working for the FLW/RCL now. Heard that last week. There hasn't been an official announcement yet.
The rumor mill dumped that info in my ear, too.

Everything I have ever heard about Mark Dorn is very positive. Whomever he works with would certainly benefit from his skills and personality.
A rumor is like a fart in church, everyone thinks they know where it came from, but nobody will stand up and claim it.
You sit in your own pew, so to speak.

As someone who has fished numerous PWT tournaments in the past, I can personally attest to the fact Mark is a true gentleman. As my mother used to say, he's one of those guys that always knows you. He doesn't just walk by when he sees you at a resturant, gas station etc. He stops and talks. While I know others may have had their disagreements with Mark, I never did. He always treated me good. Glad to hear he will be going with the RCL.
i, of all people, despise the rumor mills.
but i will take an opportunity here, not about the rumor of mark dorns job status, but about my experiences and feelings about him.
historicly, i am the fiercest competitor on the trail. i want and will grab any little advantage i can to insure optimum winning potential.
in marks role, he had to put up me doing just that many times. i had to compete with him, as well as the "boys". lol lol and i gotta say, he was good competition.lol lol he played his game hard too, just the way he was suppose to play. the right way.
so mark, if you're listening, i welcome the opportunity to work with you (or against you)lol lol in your new position with the rcl. you and i were there when this all started and we surely should be together now as well. good luck!, mark. you too, are a 49er.

I talked to Mark on the phone just a couple days ago. If I had
an inkling about this I would have asked and got a staight answer
from Mark himself.
I could wake up real early and start saying good things about
Mark Dorn and still be saying good things well into the evening.
Whoever he ends up working with will have the best.

I must be mistaken but I thought the site was for general info not gossip. Seem's that this post is going in the same direction as the post did for Pete Harsh. What a shame! You have two great guys that have either decided to make a change or whatever. Why not just leave it as that???? To all a safe and happy fishing season. "2002"

Our family cabin was about a block down the road from West Shore Resort on Mille Lacs. Mark and Jackie Dorn ran West Shore and as a kid, I used to watch for his launch to come in so I could run down the shore to snoop around the fish being brought in. Mark was a great guy and we were very sad when they finally sold the resort... hated to see him go. No gossip here, just great memories!

confused, not a rumor. Ask any PWT full time pro. They all know.
Mark's leaving PWT and InFish will be a sad day for everyone.
Ron, Al, James, Dawn, Dan, Jim, Stu, Eileen and others who I didn't
know helped lead the way not only in teaching us fishing methods, but
that fishing can be a way to make a living.
Good luck to all of them
