Shimano TR200-G Levelwind

Just picked up two of these reels for leadcore. Bought them sight unseen and had hoped for a slightly larger size. I am able to put 8 colors of lead on the reel which should be enough.....

Any opinions on these reels? Anyone using them or have used them in the past?

I have a couple. Bullet proof. Smooth drag. I can get 10 colors of 18lb core on mine.

I have five of them for salmon rods...Good reels, smooth drag and can take some punishment

Hmmmm..... Do you put on some backing and a leader? I used about 30 yards of 15lb mono backing and a 20 foot 10 lb leader and could only get 8 colors on. I am though using 27lb leadcore.

I know the backing should be stronger than the leadcore but I only used the backing to prevent the leadcore from slipping, plus we dont have fish here that could take me to my backing.

No backing. I run a 8-10 foot leader of spiderwire or powerpro.
