With the weather looking like hit and miss tonight and tomorrow with high wind, waves, thunderstorms or muddy water, I'm trying to think of places where I can still get on the water( Lake Ereie) with my boat (19.6 ft starcraft with 115hp) and be somewhat protected. For instance with the weather is it prudent to try fishing in the sandusky bay? Are there spots off downtown cleveland behind the outer breakewall that are protected that might produce fish? Mouths of rivers may be another choice. So where do you hide with your boat and still have a chance at catching something? I've got to get my fix in this weekend.

Mosquito Lake is good this time of year.
Actually the best place to fish when the weather is bad is the lake front cabin. You can fish for lobster out of the boiling pot as you cook them for dinner.
Then you can fish for refreshment out of the ice bucket to wet your lips after the lobster.
Be safe - don't venture out where it imperils your safety or common sense.
Have a safe season.
Take care

Actually, the best place to go would be Scarlets. On Highway 2, west of sandusky

It all depends on the wind direction. North or NE and the bay will be a mess but West of Catawba Island could be good. Lots of walleye are still holding inside. Look to the wind direction and then make your decision. In any case be careful, Erie can be hard to deal with this time of year.

Fishing Lake Erie aboard "DENIED"

During my lifetime I have had some pretty good days of fishing but have never had them bite good enough to die for. Find a nice cozy place, have a few friends over and talk about the good times.
Don't risk your life to go out on a day when they might not even bite.
