Thanks Jerry but I have recently discovered that Frank no longer works there. That might be the reason my boat has not been looked at for 3 weeks. I've called there more than a few times. I did get a phone call back saying they were "swamped". It originally was going to be 6-10 days, which has now turned into 18 days! At least Frank would call and tell me what was going on. Looks as if I'll be looking for another dealer.

I would go to who ever is the head cheese at the place and get to the bottom of your problem.

Great idea except for the main guy is never around. Believe me, I've tried that and only get the "desk workers".

I would pack a lunch and camp out until you talked to someone in charge.

I'm a pretty good friend of Frank and although I don't have all the specifics I can tell you that he left Marine Pros due to some philosophical differences with the owner; meaning he thought he could use a little more help with the prep and setup of the newly sold boats to free him up on the sales floor. I can tell you with complete certainty that he was being worked to the bone and putting in 12 to 14 hour days virtually every day. I don't know exactly where he is but rumor has it that he will be or is already working for a new marina in Delavan. It's not Reeds Marina from what I hear so calling them will do you no good. I will pass along any further information as it becomes available.

Check the General Discussion page and you'll see where he ended up. As for working him too much, I certainly believe that. Marine Pros made a huge mistake by letting him get away. I can only hope that his new boss takes on Alumacrafts and Yarcrafts.

You couldn't be more right about Marine Pros making a big mistake. It was HUGE!! They'd have to be blind, stupid or both to think that Frank wasn't THE reason the marina was able to exist. Frank is not only the most knowledgeble boat person I know but is also the most well connected in the business. If he even retains half of his current customers, he'll do very well and Marine Pros will find themselves closing thier doors. Speaking of which, rumor has it that they did close thier doors on Memorial Day. A day that is historically one of the busiest of the year for them. I've been told that when Frank left, a number of others left too. I for one wish him all the best in his new place and would ask that all of you who have dealt with him in the past, continue to do business with him at the new Marina. A more pleasant and "in the know" person you will be hard pressed to find.

Good luck to you Frank and I'm sure I'll see you in the near future.

Boat update...
Talked to their service dept. on Wednesday (June 1st) and they said they would get to work on my trailer sometime Wednesday or Thursday of that week, then call me with an estimate when they found the problem. Today is Friday at 5:30pm CST and still no call. I leave next Friday for Canada.
By the way, I took it in on May 13th to check for a short in the trailer wiring. I told them if they couldn't find the short, just rewire the trailer. Their response, "That would take a long time, are you sure you want to do that?" Little did I know that "a long time" in their books is much longer than mine. Can you tell I'm a bit frustrated?
Brian

PS. I need Frank!

Saturday, June 4th, no call, no nothing. I am currently drafting a letter to the Better Business Bureau. Sorry for the whining, just need to vent I guess.

Same problems here. I puchased a trailer from frank, but need some shims added for the boat to sit perfect. I've called 3 times never got a call back. Brandon

Update:
Got a call from Marine Pros today (Yahooooooooo!). They said I would have to have my trailer rewired. I said, "Yes, I know, that is what I told you when I brought it in on MAY 13!" The lady said, "You wanted us to call you when we found the problem." I said, "Yes, and I also told you that I wanted you to rewire the trailer no matter what the problem was." Then she says, "I'll have to order the wiring package for your trailer." I go, "Couldn't you have done that a month ago when I told you that is what I wanted to have done?" Besides all of this, they were suppose to call me last Wednesday once they started work. No call at all last week. I asked her about that and she says, "Sorry, we're swamped right now." I'm wondering how my boat can sit for a month and not get worked on? Are they repairing a fleet of battleships or something? So, I say, "Will my boat be ready to be picked up on Thursday because, as I have said before, I AM GOING TO CANADA THIS FRIDAY!" She says, "I think so."
When I go to finally get my boat I am going to be handing her an envelope with a letter to the Better Business Bureau that I will tell her that I will be sending in the mail that day. I will also make copies to send to whomever the owner of this #### hole is, and one to Yarcraft, Alumacraft, and Yamaha, all of which they sell. Not sure the last 3 places make much difference but the first two may get their attention. Thanks for letting me vent....again.
Brian
PS. Any other ideas for me...legal ideas, not involving firearms or sharp objects?
