Hope someone can help me, am a big fan of Super Silver Thread line, but can't have it spooled on my reels in bulk at a fishing store, thus have to do it myself at home, with mixed results, anybody have a quick easy way to tell me how to set up the spool and my reel so i get it on right the first time so when i'm fishing it doesn't all run off in slinky piles the first few times out,

thanx

One thing I do that helps is to soak the entire spool in a sink filled with warm water and covered with a heavy object like a brick(to prevent it from floating up). A half hour later, it's amazing how smoothly the line loads on the reel.Makes it very limp and avoids annoying twists in the line while trying to spool.... and no re-dos!!!! Hope this helps.

If I have already spooled the line onto the spool, can i still soak that in the hot water to get rid of memory and twists? I've heard adding a few drops of vegetable oil also helps. Thanks
