Been looking at the 102c locator and noticed some places like jolly ann sells it with a 60 degree cone, while other places sell it with the more common 20 degree cone. I usually fish in water 30' or less, which cone would be better? Thanks for your help.
the 102 is a single frequency unit. the 200 khz is the only one you can put on. it has a theoretical cone angle of 20 deg. in lowrance liturature, they explain that the sonar beam actually bends as it travels through the water. because of this bending the effective beam angle is 60 degrees.

when we lose the 2nd. amendment the others will be history too!

Just a suggestion. I bought the 107 cdf. I have both frequencies. I have only used 3-4 times and just getting used to it, but I like the dual cone setup. I am seeing things outside that aren't showing on the narrow cone. I think as I get more comfortable-it will help me catch more fish. I think it is only a bit more expensive than the 102.
