Anyone have an idea how much higher a floating spinner rig runs versus its standard counterpart?
In other words, given two rods in the same boat, same line dia, same line out, same weight, same blade, same bait etc., except one uses regular beads and the other uses a couple floats, roughly what is the difference in running depth, if any?

All depends...... on weight, trolling speed, blade size, presentation, etc. If you're putting any significant weight in front of it, like a bottom bouncer, a big blade, or trolling over 1MPH, there's not going to be any significant difference. Even drifting, I'd guess you'll probabbly see a foot or two difference at the most. I make my own harnesses and it takes quite a few floating beads to lift an average-sized crawler.

I really don't think there is a "big" difference. Yet the float rigs do not get caught in the rocks quite as often as beaded rigs. Yet they still get caught. I doubt that they "drag" the bottom like beaded rigs.
The float seems to add bulk to the rig. If you need to get off of the bottom a little more inflate your crawlers.
Even using floats, once the boat is moving the bait goes down to about whatever level the weight is running at.
