Can anyone tell me how long Berkley Gulp retains it's optimum scent.
Does it matter wether it is pulled through cold water ( 45*) or warm water ( 65*). On the package it says not to return used Gulp back into the package. For what reason? Does it weaken the scent of the unused Gulp or is it a way for Berkley to sell more?

Don't know the answer to all the questions but the reason not to put used stuff back in with the new is that once used the biodegrading process starts and your new stuff will start to break down, especially if you plan on keeping it for a while.

If you plan on using it in a year go right ahead and put the used bait back in the bag. The break down takes quite a while.

I had a Gulp grub on a Johnsons Silver minnow and forgot to take the grub off. I left that rod sitting for a week, and the grub shriveled up to nothing. It was like hard plastic, and would not come off the hook. I stuck it in a bucket of water and it went back to its original shape, and I fished with it again. Gulp worms are great on spinners for walleye and hold up well.

DON`T put them back in the bag. I did that last year and didn`t use them for a month or so. When I took the package out, half the grubs had turned brown and hard. I guess there was some bacteria or something on the one I put back, because almost everyone it was touching was starting to turn brown.

[font color=green size=3][b]Bacteria from the lake attaches itself to the Gulp when you use it, then ruins the whole package if you put the used one back. The scent remains strong regardless of water temerature. It's like a lollipop, just as good on the inside as the outside.
