I broke my favorite fishing pole this weekend. It was a Berkly Proseries Gary Roach 2-piece 6'6" Light action "crappie" Rod. I have had this rod for eight years. It broke while I was casting. I must have stressed an area of the rod and it finaly broke. I love "gary", thats what I call the rod. I called Berkly to see if the rod was still made, no such luck. Does anyone else have any suggestions as to where I could find a replacement. I miss fishing with this rod very much. I feel like I lost a friend.

The closest thing Berkley makes now is a 6'6", 2 pc med light in their Prolite series, a Buzz Ramsey pro design. In fact, the only 2-pc spinning rods listed are Buzz Ramsey rods, all of the Gary Roach rods are one piece. All is not lost though if bounthunter can come through, or you could take a look at the Fenwick HMX model HMXS 66L-2. It should retail somewhere around $79.95 and you should be able to get it through Cabela's and it's action should be equal to or better than the Gary Roach rod you had.
How long have you had that rod anyway? Looking back through dealer catalouges through '03 it isn't listed either and once again the only 2-pc pro series rods listed are Buzz Ramsey rods. Hmmmmmmmm! Ooops, my bad, you said you have had it for eight years, sorry!!

Tell me where you broke it and it is likely that it can be easily fixed. A good repair job, if it is at least 4-6 inches from the tip rarely affects the fishability of the rod.
