what is the best way to fish walleyes in heavy current ,what kind of stucture do you look for ,do you fish the current side or down current side of humps that might hold fish,any info app thanks

In current, usually they hang tight to the bottom. Look for a current break. That line where moving water and slack water meet. A good place is around a tree snag. There is slack water in front and behind a good snag. Also look for underwater humps. Structure under water will leave calm areas for fish to lay in. On river edges, even try the drop off edge from the bank. That erea where it drops fast 6'-10' before the bottom levels out. Just remember, they stick tight to bottom when there is good current. We've caught fish off a point once where the walleye had mud on its fins. Now thats laying low.

Also, if you troll at all. You have better control going up river. The current picks up around snags and you can almost stop and work real slow around a snag. Trolling down river is a little to fast. Plus, if you snag up, it's a mess trying to back up to get loose.
