I am going to ask which depth finder you guys would recomend for the trolling motor, I fish lakers, vertical jig, but also walleyes, and would like some recomendations on buying a new unit, the lowrance x91 on the boat now is just not what I want on it. Very poor unit and it came with the boat, just need to upgrade, do not need anything other than temp.Eagle? Garmin? Bottomline? Just want a clear unit with detail to show a jig shallow or deep for lakers. Thanks very much Stan

A unit with outstanding detail is the Pinpoint TR 320, be sure and get the interference-free puck transducer for your trolling motor.

A feature I really liked when fishing Lakers was the ability to manually set the upper and lower display limits. When fishing 100' water, the marks can be pretty small even with a big screen. For example, being able to set the display to 70-90 fow when fishing 100-125 depths greatly enhance the displayed image, for that portion of the water column.

Anyhoooo, the X-15 allows manual setting of the upper and lower limit, but I think there are better units than the X-15 available, either in the lowrance brand or in another brand, just thought I would mention how much I liked the feature.

Reeds has the Bottomline 480 max on sale for $139. That`s a heck of a price,($50 off), on a sweet unit. If you have a Bass Pro near you they will match the price if you have a copy of the add. That`s the unit I bought for my bow mount. Here`s the link for Bottomline products from Reeds.http://www.reedssports.com/main.taf?cat=20
