Anyone ever use this? I'm guessing it was replaced with sopmething newer/better of it had flaws.. but I have had one for years and it seems to work well,..however I'm fairly new to walleye fishing so perhaps someone can tell me about the wisdom of using these,...this unit is NOT like the Hummingbird 3d (the one I remember anyway) which tried to make the bottom 3 dimentional, this is essentially is a 3 headed transducer that sweeps as wide at the bottom of the cone as you were deep,..so at 40' depth ,.you were scaning a 40 swath of bottom. (I realize some of that limitation)
I also have a Zercom LPG 2000 and haven't used it much yet as its new to my boat but I love it for detail. I was wondering if the eagle was good to run for searching. As it has said before, many esp older units can't pick up fish a few inches from the bottom but are these generally feeding fish anyway? Would the Eagle be good to show much activity and a good search tool?
