With 50 some responses and counting, I am not sure if I am seeing what I am looking for. Somewhere in the tread, there was a comment that LCDs can only have 86 pixels/inch and genetrom has 128? Maybe I am confused on this. If this is true then zooming or higher pixel/inch graphs have limits to effectiveness. I always thought more pixels per inch= better target separation and a more effective view of the water column. For best/better fish finding, is it pixels/ inch? (all other things equal) Thanks,

JIM. AN INDEPENDENT EXPERT FIGURED THE X15 AT 86. THE GENETRON HAS 128. AT THE PRESENT TIME WE DO NOT KNOW OF A DISPLAY THAT HAS A HIGHER COUNT.THE HIGHER THE PER INCH COUNT WHEN YOU DIVIDE THE TOTAL VERTICAL COUNT BY THE VERTICAL INCHES, AND HAVE A PROCESSOR THAT CAN DO THE JOB, THE BETTER OFF YOU ARE WHEN IT COMES TO RESOLUTION,CLARITY,SEPARATION,YOU PICK THE WORD. I'm not sure this is what you're looking for but, let's say you have 400 pixs and you are at 100' on your screen and in 25' of water your target seperation is not going to be as good as it could be. You should set your depth at 30' while in 25' of water so your seperation is better. This should give you the maximum pixel to inch you can achieve. I hope this is not to confusing.
