Im very disappointed in the foot pedal for the Powder Drive. I've had my unit now for 2 years and today while out on the water the circuit board on the pedal started to smoke and stopped turning to the left. This was not the first time it gave me grief, after about a year it turned one way very well but the other way it moved at half the pace.
I purchased the Co-pilot from the local dealer here in town and hope it will work better then that foot pedal. If any of you guys are looking at the Powerdrive models I would recomend getting the Co-pilot model and save some cash rather then buying both seperate.
Any of you guys have problems w/ the foot pedals??

Cheers!!

Bought the Copilot option last year, and now the foot pedal collects dust in my storage area. Nothing like using your tolling motor from anywhere in the boat. Enjoy it.

I agree with Jim.

I got the co pilot when they first came out and havent used the foot pedal in over 2 years now. Trying to remember where I put it now LOL

The foot pedal on my Power Drive lasted about 10 years before the circuit board burned out. Of course by that time, MinnKota had quit selling replacement pedals for my particular model. Fortunately, I found a newer foot pedal unit in the Cabelas bargain cave and was able to splice my old plug into the new pedal and make it work. Considering that 90% of my use of the motor is for vertical jigging with two rods on the Detroit River, I can't see me switching to the co-pilot.

Glad to hear that you guys are saving your old foot pedals. Don't be surprised if you hear from me when this one burns out. ;-)

I have two of the foot pedals hanging around the garage some place that have never been used. The CoPilot is the way to go.
