Any tips on jigging a muddy, fast flowing river (that obviously has some current breaks here and there) would be appreciated.....IE...how you tip your jig with bait....use of scents...movement....action of rod...colors....jig size....???? Enjoy jigging, but am having success when bite is good to fair, but now water is muddy and dirty and faster, and am not having the success of others around me....thanks!

First thing that comes to mind, is use rattleing type jigs, and upgrade one or two sizes to "pound" the bottom and give bigger profile. Also the paddle tail type shad bodys seem to excell - don't be afraid to use the 4"ers. A Gulp worm and a ball style jighead would be an option also - Good Luck. Bob WC#253

I know you asked about jigging, but the conditions you described are perfect for handlining. You might think about doing that in a muddy river insted. It realy works.

Thanks for the responses...like the larger idea to "pound" out some noise....not sure what handlining is....any help on topic would be appreciated....do I need a bunch of New equipment for this??
