I'm looking to replace my avid that I sadly left on the bottom of lake Oahe. I used the rod for live bait-light bouncers-lite jigs&cranks. It was one of my favorite rods--except-- I prefer casting rods. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Loomis for similar stuff . Its a salmon rod but seems to have a common blank and it has a longer handle which I also like. Does anyone know of a Loomis dealer in southern Wi. where I could put my hands on one? OR can I have a Avid blank made into a casting rod -MATTMAN??- as I know I like that rod.

I built a HS9000 for my brother-in-law for his rigging rod. As a casting rod. He loves it. Has a couple of buddies that are always wanting to use it too. I built one for myself as a spinning rod. That rod is a very good option for rigging.
And yes, you could have an Avid built into a casting rod. If you know that you like that blank for what you want to do, that is a good option. You can have the handle any length you like going that route. Go through my profile and send me an email, I'd be happy to discuss either option with you.
