Is there anyone out there that makes a double willow harness?Would like to find them in some blue and purple combinations. Will be using them in open water so does a guy want floucarbon or something stronger to fight wear?Found a company out of New York called Dixie spinners, but theyre only making single bladed harnesses.Appreciate any help.

Perchjker,

I've made my own spinner rigs and jig molds for a few years using the kits avaialble through Cabela's Tackle Craft catalog as well as Gander Mountain. Gander actually has a great fly craft section that also lets you use fly weight gear for walleye rigs.

I spend most of the Winter making home made rigs but you can also easily add colored willow blades to existing rigs by removing the terminal gear and adding clevises for the additional willows. If you like to paint and create new stuff it's a good project.
I've gotten into a nasty habit of adding two beads between the blades. Reason it's nasty is holding and securing the entire rig to align all the gear so it spins properly.
Make your own...It's fun and also a great way to pass time during down days.
Only other double rigged spinners (in-line) I've seen are used in Ontario for Lake Trout and are all home made.

Ok
How about coated cable verses say flourcarbon,do you think the fish would spook from the cable.I thought it looked like the harness, on the weldon looke just barely long enough for the blades and the hooks.Maybe after you put a crawler on there wouldnt be a visibilty issue.Good info guys keep it coming.

20lb seaguar floucarbon works great! I am using two harnesess that have cought 25 + eyes each, without flaw in the line. I switched from monofiliment, which I would need to retie every other fishing day.

I'll second the spinners from Erie Outfitters Craig uses good blades and good hooks, too (Gami reds).

These blades from Craig Lewis / Erie Outfitters have sealed the deal to "convert" me to a harness guy this summer. Anyone that knows me knows how much I've resisted harnesses / worms in the past. These blades are awesome. If you call Craig tell him I referred you. Craig's blades were responsible for tournament wins two weeks in a row out of Lorain, Ohio. July 16 we won the GNWC and July 23 Gary & Wayne won the WBSA LEWT event with Craig's blades.

PJ.
I don't know how Steve overlooked mentioning the "what you owe us if you kick our behinds fees", but I think in the range of 25 - 33% should suffice. LOL

Good luck and we look forward to seeing you in Dunkirk.

Pj,

Here is a link you might want to take a look at. They don't make the harnesses, but they make all the compnents that are used to make the harnesses, if you decide to tie your own.

These people make most of the components for Northland Tackle.
